Tag a friend who loves London...wait..is this Ireland? When I first saw this shot by @annalendda I thought it was a typical street scene from across the Irish Sea, so didn't feature. Turns out it's an Irish pub in the capital city itself so I'm not as daft as I thought (I keep telling myself that!)
Mind you, this pub is on the edge of China Town. So it's an Irish pub, in England, right next to China. Ha! Since the very beginning London has been a massive melting pot of people from across the globe... it's always amazing to hear such a huge variety of accents and see different faces when you explore the city. Waxy O’Connor was a professional candle maker in Ireland who was born in 1788. But he was perhaps better known to like the odd drink or three. In fact so much so that he became a legend and a tree was planted in his honour. And it’s from him that the biggest Irish pub in London takes its name. Pictured is the smaller version of its bigger brother which is close by.
Cheers to you all!🍻Love this by @annalendda 🇬🇧 Want your Photos of Britain to be featured? Follow us and tag this account in your picture too. 'Ta!🇬🇧
