Heading back to my other home with the tiniest yucca brush painting. Thankful for this check-in with family, friends, and myself; adventures together and approaching everything with so much love. A very different trip than the last. Taking a hiatus from social at least through year end, so please contact me elsewhere. Hoping your holidays are safe and happy! Looking forward to a strong 2019 together. NM - I’ll be back next month.

Just two Tewa MBAs down by the bosque discussing finance, indigenous women’s leadership, our families and our futures. Same height and hands and feet. ❤️✨ Much love to my diné tiu, wouldn’t have wanted to spend my last day home with anyone else.

Visiting a red willow basket made by my great-grandmother‘s hands (last two photos) and given to my grandmother. It is at least 70 years old, though likely older, and I would imagine these particular branches came from around Taos where our Gonzáles’s moved to find more work. Would love to dedicate time with someone to teach me how to make this pattern, the best time to gather, how to bend and not break the branches. Mamá Francés blessed us with some beautiful symmetry and an army of strong women.

We shot this last summer at @deb4congressnm’s home for @history channel and am posting the link in my bio as I just found it. It is an incredible conversation with NM indigenous women leaders about what it means to us, our communities, the United States, and our future generations to have a Native woman in Congress. The video touches on the Indian Boarding School system, policies of cultural erasure and family separation which have touched all of our families (and are still currently happening to indigenous families crossing US Borderlands). I was so heavily affected by the experience and this progress for us, I am tearing up in the video. For my grandmother to have been so separated from her culture, to have internalized this cultural self-loathing so heavily and for me to have been present in this group where history was made by one of our community members serving in this way is tremendous progress! For us to see our values represented in this way is strength. For my future daughters to be able to see and know Deb as a Congresswoman is a triumph of resilience and survival, of US Civil Rights, and a taste of our limitless potential. I really cannot express enough how meaningful this moment in history is to me and my family, should be for everyone in this country. #indigenouswomenrise #nativewomenrising

“How much justice are you willing to give up for peace?” Last night with HE Juan Manuel Santos, former President of Colombia and 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, and Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, President of the UN General Assembly discussing the FARC peace process as conflict region replicable paradigm. A bonus: William Ury both participated in the peace talks and was present on the panel and following reception - I studied him under two negotiations professors at Wharton and recommend “Getting to Yes” as a starting point for anyone wanting to improve negotiation skills. #unitednations #peacebuilding #irenology #cyberirenology
