On the 27th October 2018 I'm going out of my comfort zone and stepping in to the cage to fight in an MMA event put on to raise money for @cr_uk (Cancer Research UK) the event is held by @ultra_mma and in order for the event to be successful fighters need to gather donations! I have set up a just giving page where all donations will go directly to Cancer Research UK. Any pictures/videos I get from the event will be posted on my personal page @matthewhiggs_ if you could please spare even £1 to donate to cancer research please click on the link in my bio and donate 💕

INDY UPDATE! As you know in my last update I said Indy may need surgery on her tongue to remove a foreign object that wasnt allowing her tongues swelling to go down. Fortunately it won't have to come to that, we saw a different vet and they were happy with the progress that her tongue was making and they were comfortable that she wouldn't need any further treatment. I talked to a vet friend of mine and they said the vet we saw shouldn't have suggested surgery after only 5 days of antibiotics following quite a serious infection and that the usual course of antibiotics takes 10-14 days. As we went back on day 10 of antibiotics the 3rd time around this is why there was significant improvement. A lot of people told me to make a gofundme just incase she does need surgery and a lot of you donated so I thank you immensely for that ❤️ Boss has his vet stuff covered however if indy were to get sick again I'd have to pay out of pocket so would you all like me to pay the £500 of the insurance policy upfront or keep the money for a vet fund that I can pay directly to the vet if need be? How it works in the UK is if your dog is insured and gets sick you have to pay out of pocket to the vet and then claim the money back on an insurance claim so even if Indy was insured if she needed £1,000 worth of treatment I would have to pay that out of pocket before I can claim it and get it back weeks later

Please read the gofundme in my bio and donate if possible 💕 As some of you now know it's been impossible to find a company that will give Indy medical insurance, well I've finally found a company and according to people much more knowledgeable than me it is the ONLY company in the UK that will insure exempt dogs. ONE COMPANY that will offer cover to an exempt dog, all the rest refuse to touch exempt dogs because they are deemed too much of a risk. How disgusting is that? Unlike other insurance policies for "normal" pets though you aren't allowed to pay monthly rather you have to pay one big lump sum at the begining of your policy. This could be from £300-£500 annually whereas insurance for a Labrador would cost you less than £120 a year paid into monthly sums. I emailed the company and this is the info I got about the cover. Do you think this is adequate coverage considering its the only choice exempt dog owners have? _________________________________________________ "We indicate an annual premium from £300, depending on the information supplied on your application. This can be paid in full either using a postal order, debit card or credit card. Cover Details - Up to £3,000 Veterinary Fees for each injury or illness -Up to £500 Complementary Treatment for each injury or illness -Up to £1,000 for the purchase price of your dog following death from illness, up to the renewal following the dog's 8th birthday -Up to £1,000 for the purchase price of your dog following Death from Injury - Up to £1,000 Boarding Fee's per year -Up to £1,000 Advertising & Reward, per year - Up to £1,000 for the purchase price of your dog following loss by Theft or Straying" _________________________________________________ Unfortunately I can't afford a minimum of £300 to take out insurance right now as I have to save for an endoscopy and this potential surgery and even if I could they wouldnt cover Indy's preexisting condition. If you haven't yet done so please read the gofundme (link in bio) and consider donating. I have to save up for a surgery for Indy's tongue, everything is explained on gofundme

He's very cute but very invasive of personal space the owner is lucky Indy is friendly because he was on a flexi leash and the owner didn't even realise he was nose to nose with indy at one point because he wasn't paying attention. Over all dog is a good boy 10/10 owner is a bad boy 3/10

Just got back from the vet again and it's not great news, the abscess hasn't gone down and they suspect there is something stuck in her tongue that the x-ray couldn't pick up like a piece of wood or something, they said they would have to operate on her which would cost thousands which I obviously don't have. They put her on another 5 days of antibiotics and then I'm seeing them again. If it doesn't go down I might have to do another fundraiser for this surgery otherwise it could get worse :( if you didn't know before Indy was taken by police and deemed a pit bull type she was insured, after I got her back from the police I called my insurance company and asked them if I could change her breed to exempt pit bull, they said because of her breed they can no longer insure her and they cancelled the policy. I didn't know this was even a thing and in 3.5 years I've found 0 companies that are willing to give her medical insurance. Even if I found one right now they wouldn't be able to help because it's a pre existing condition

Indy had her 2nd vet appointment today, we were given a 5 day course of antibiotics and made another appointment to go back in 4 days. The vet said he would like her to get an endoscopy but I can't afford another £200 unless I randomly find it on the floor :( Indy is doing well though, lots of energy, caused chaos at the vets knocking a whole bowl of dog treats off the counter but everyone loves her, she met a 2 year old kid who she loved because she rarely gets to meet tiny people and the parents were getting their kid to stroke Indy (they asked first)

Whats happened so far: Took indy to the vet and was told she would need to be sedated so they can examine her tongue and throat, turned out to be an abscess, left her at the vet for an hour, was told she would need an x-ray, x-ray was all clear no signs of blockages but possible infection starting in her throat. Was told she would need an endoscopy to check further down for any damages so will get that arranged soon although it isn't an emergency. Taking her back tomorrow for some more antibiotics. Going to try and keep her cool and hydrated now. She is in high spirits, even half drugged up at the vets she got excited when I said dinner so I think she will be okay
